TNZKMA 96

96 Olphynn

Priests also have guilds. There is only one Priests Guild in the town. There is a central plaza in the center of the town, which is divided north, south, east, and west. All the mansions facing the plaza belong to the priests. One of those mansions was the Priests Guild.

All information about rituals performed in the north, south, east, and west, and accidents and incidents is gathered at the Priests Guild. Priests are secretive by nature. They do not divulge any information they have, whether it is important or not. It’s almost like they’re immersed in a sense of superiority.

But Olphynn thinks that’s a mistake. That’s true in a sense, but it doesn’t mean they should hide everything. Especially when it comes to life.

No matter how hard they try to keep their temper in check, it’s not hard to imagine that some kind of impetus could easily cause a riot. Incidents and accidents involving Reincarnators were the most likely to cause a stir. Therefore, it cannot be said that the Priests Guild was wrong in deciding not to inform them.

However, there are at least two victims. They should at least issue a warning. Olphynn sighed as he walked down the street in the afternoon.

γ€€The Priests’ barrier is like a net. The threads of the barrier are intricately intertwined and cover the town. Monsters that touch the barrier suffer the same fate as insects caught in a spider’s web.

The Priests senses the monster’s intrusion and quickly rushes in to defeat the monster. In a time when there were no heroes, the town was protected like this.

But now…

Olphynn stopped and looked around. Not a single barrier net appeared in his eyes.

The Priests’ powers had weakened, and they were no longer able to put up a barrier inside the town. That’s why a strong barrier surrounding the town is necessary.

He complained about this many times at the Priests Guild, but everything was laughed at. Many people laughed at him and said, ‘The coward is scared’.

Standing in a vacant lot on the outskirts of town, he looks at his feet and then above him. Even though the barrier had only been put up half a month ago, it was already beginning to crack. I starts to hate his own inexperience.

However, lamenting does not help. Clenching his back teeth, Olphynn chanted a spell.

The ends of the threads that were cut and about to disappear begin to shine and grow. The threads of the barrier are thick, strong, and intricately intertwined.

At the very least, he doesn’t want to cause any casualties from this Eastern Section where he lives. He didn’t want the Reincarnators he had known and become friends with to fall into the line of victims.

He can’t protect everything in town. It was frustrating, but this was the best Olphynn could do by himself.

Starting from Olphynn, the barrier net spreads left and right. Cover the Eastern Section with the spread net, and tie the barrier net at the center of the Eastern Section, above the plaza where Olphynn lives, like tying the mouth of a bag. Then, connect the thin thread tied to the net to the Daryss family mansion.

Now, no matter where Olphynn is, he can detect any monsters that touch the barrier.

Olphynn’s talisman is in the Daryss Mansion. A small stone crafted with a spell from Olphynn’s hair and blood. It’s in his room.

To the servants, it probably looks like a simple stone. Even to the uneducated Priests, it also would look like just a stone.

Is there even anyone in this town who can see that that stone is special? He thinks this not with arrogance, but with concern.

Talisman stone. Several generations ago, any priest could easily create such a stone. However, now not only can one not produce it, but they also cannot distinguish it.

The powers of the Priests are weakening. Olphynn believes that this is due to negligence and poor thinking.

He looks at the barrier that was just completed. There are no tears. However, He realized that it would be dangerous to leave it open for half a month without checking. I’ll come next time in 5 days.

His training, his chores as a novice Priest, and his Ceremonies. I’m always pressed for time, but I should come here even if it means cutting back on eating and sleeping. Olphynn says to himself.

He can’t afford to shoulder a lifetime of regrets in order to gain a moment’s peace.
